Samoan Language week

Every year in New Zealand we celebrate different languages.   This week we are celebrating the Gagana Samoa – Samoa Language.

Each year there is a theme to the week.  This year it is   ‘Mitamita i lau gagana, maua’a lou fa’asinomaga’ which means ‘Be proud   of your language and grounded in your identity’.

The more we learn ab

out our language the more we understand about our identity.

Identity is all about who you are and what makes you special. It’s like a big collection of things that show what you like, what you enjoy doing, and how you see yourself. It’s what makes you unique and different from everyone else.

Next week I will be sharing a poster

about myself that shows you what I think makes up my identity.

Manuia le vaiaso o le gagana Samoa!
